Die Sonnenuhr steht im Vegesacker Stadtgarten, der jederzeit und kostenlos zugänglich ist. An den vier Seiten des Steinblocks sind Gravuren vorhanden (siehe Fotos). Die Sonnenuhr wurde zu Ehren der Mutter des Stadtgartens Hanna Borcherding (1876 - 1960) und ihren Helfern Heinrich Herklotz (1885 - 1963) und Heinrich Beilken (1894 - 1970) entworfen und aufgestellt.
Die umlaufende Inschrift lautet:
"Geh aus mein Herz und suche Freud in dieser lieben Sommerzeit an deines Gottes Gaben"
Es handelt sich um die ersten Zeilen eines geistlichen Sommerliedes von Paul Gerhardt (1607–1676).
The sundial is located in the Stadtgarten (an urban park), Vegesack, Bremen, Germany. The entrance is 24/7 and free. There are engravings all around the stone. The building was constructed in honor of "the Stadtgarten´s Mother" Hanna Borcherding (1876 - 1960) and her assistants Heinrich Herklotz (1885 - 1963) and Heinrich Beilken (1894 - 1970).
The engravend words on the top of the stone blocks´ sides are:
"Geh aus mein Herz und suche Freud in dieser lieben Sommerzeit an deines Gottes Gaben" (Go out my heart and look for delight in this lovely summertime in your gods´ gifts)
The words are the beginning of a spiritual song by Paul Gerhardt (1607 - 1676).
