Né le 10/04/1909 à Montcuq (46) et professeur au lycée de Cahors , Jean-Jacques Chapou est fils d’un instituteur Mort pour la France en 1915.

A l’origine du mouvement LIBERATION en 1942, il passe à la clandestinité du MUR comme chef de tous les maquis du Lot.
En 1944, il rejoint avec ses hommes les FTP de Corrèze en investissant Tulle, ce qui entraîne le retour offensif de la SS-Division « Das Reich ».
At the origin of the movement LIBERATION in 1942, he passes in the underground of the United Movment for Resistance as headof all the resistance movements of the Lot.
In 1944, he joins with his guys the FTP of the Corrèze by investing Tulle, what entails the backlash of SS-DIVISION " DAS REICH ".
