The US Congress is used to saying what's so, and when it comes to laws, they are usually right. But Congress cant't change the date something happened, not even if they have it engraved in stone.

This sign of history is located along the Battlefield Driving Tour at Horseshoe Bend National Military Park, near Daviston AL at Gun Hill.

The US Congressionally-approved, commissioned, and installed monument to the Battle of Horseshoe Bend (which really happened on 27 Mar 1814) reads as follows:

"Here on the Horseshoe Battleground General Andrew Jackson and his brave men broke the power of the Creek Indians under Chief Manawa
March 29, 1814

Erected by the Congress of the United States"
