< DE >  Auf dem Südtiroler Platz befindet sich das Andreas-Hofer-Denkmal, das von Clemens Holzmeister konzipiert und von Jakob Adlhart ausgeführt wurde. Die Enthüllung fand am 14. Mai 1978 statt. Auf einer Seite des Denkmals wurden 5 der 6 Strophen des Andreas-Hofer-Liedes (auch 'Zu Mantua in Banden' genannt) eingraviert. Das Lied wurde 1831 von Julius Mosen geschrieben (und von Leopold Knebelsberger im Jahr 1844 komponiert) und beschreibt die Gefangenschaft und Hinrichtung von Andreas Hofer nach dem Tiroler Volksaufstand von 1809 gegen die französisch-bayerische Besetzung. Im Jahr 1948 wurde das Lied die offizielle Hymne des österreichischen Bundeslandes Tirol.

Julius Mosen, eigentlich Julius Moses (* 8. Juli 1803 in Marieney; † 10. Oktober 1867 in Oldenburg) war ein deutscher Dichter und Schriftsteller, der heute vor allem als Dichter des Andreas-Hofer-Liedes bekannt ist.

On one side of the monument 5 of the 6 verses of the Andreas-Hofer-Lied (also called 'Mantua in Banden') are engraved.
