The Evolution of the Washing Machine Timeline is inside the Homesteader Museum. It is at the corner of 1st Street and Clark Street, just off Highway 14A.

The museum is a log building full of history, interesting displays and a large section of household appliances; including an array of antique and vintage washing machines. There are outdoor displays including old farm equipment and a homesteaders cabin.
The timeline begins with the first patent for a lever type manual washing machine in 1846. In the 1920s wringers were added to a new white enameled sheet metal. The evolution continue to the 1950s when a spin feature was added and to 2008 when the first energy efficient washing machine was introduced.
