The Hyde Park has a long standing tradition (opened in 1976) in Osnabrück and changed its location three times. In the first place it was too loud to neighbors asked the city to close it down. When it was shut down there was no alternative so the club moved into a tent further outside the city. It soon became too loud again (who would have guessed - tents are not noise cancelling) and there was a wooden club built in it's place. Later it moved across the street in the building it is in now. Since 2000 it is located at the listed coordinates.
The music style is very broad, but it originated in "non conformistic" styles and since today the Hyde Park is the place to go if you are into music they don't play in the "hip" clubs.
The Schedule changes all the time and there are many specials, but mostly you can expect
1st Friday: Rock night (Rock, Metal, Hardcore)
1st Saturday: Feel the beat (Rock, Pop, Indie, Electronics, 80ies & 90ies)
2nd Friday: Ravens night (Gothic, EBM, Industrial, 80ies)
2nd Saturday: some special party (may be beach party)
3rd Friday: Rock night (Rock, Metal, Hardcore)
3rd Saturday: Feel the beat (Rock, Pop, Indie, Electronics, 80ies & 90ies)
4th Friday: specials
4th Saturday: special
5th Friday: Ravenspecial (Gothic, Goth Rock, Wave, Minimal, Batcave, Oldschool EBM, Middelage, 80ies)
5th Satuday: Hangover Party (special decoration)
On other weekdays there are concerts and a mix of the aforementioned parties.
Admission price depends on event. It an be as little as 2 Euro on an average Thursday night, 4-5 Euro for a weekend party and up to 20-60 Euro if there is a live act depending on their fame.
If you like to use public transport you can use lines 81 and 82 from Neumarkt and get off the bus at Süberweg. There is also bus service during the night on weekends.
