The Beatles first played in Wales at The Regent Dansette Ballroom in Rhyl on the 14th July 1962. The building was and always has been home to Burtons mens wear (in its various incarnations) with the upper floors having been transformed into a ball room and later a music club. The Regent Dansette Ballroom is no more as the second floor has been converted for use by the shop (now also Dorothy Perkins).

The Plaque reads (it uses English and Welsh):
