Mafra National Palace was the stage of a historical reenactment called "A day in the construction", depicting the construction works of the Palace and the experiences of the court of King John V.

According to the organization the journey begins with a Franciscan friar describing the ceremonies of the launching of the first stone, on November 17th, 1717, extending until 1730, after the consecration of the Basilica.

The public was able to observe the re-creation of a the works developed during these 13 years of construction, with mason, carpenters, coopers and locksmiths in action, as well as architectural projects and the royal orders process.
