H. Seeger, better known as 'Schäfer von Rothfelden' (Shepherd of Rothfelden) was killed here by a lightning storm on 9/6/1898.

But he died not alone. His dog and 42 of his sheeps were killed as well.

Inscription of the stone:
'Zur Erinnerung an H. Seeger Schäfer von Rothfelden welcher hier den 9. Juni 1898 samt seinem Hund und 42 Schafen vom Blitz erschlagen wurde.'
(In remembrance of H. Seeger Shepherd of Rothfelden, who here was killed on 9 June 1898 with his dog and 42 sheep by lightning.)

The stone can be found at the intersection of 'Mühlstraße' and 'Schäferlinde'.
