A number of different structures have been placed together here to form an insect village and not just a hotel.

The insect village is in the grounds of the Anderton Boat Lift Visitor Centre which is free to enter.
The boat lift lowers or raises boats 50 feet and connects the River Weaver with the Trent and Mersey Canal. It is a popular visitor attraction in its own right and well worth a visit. The insect village is a bonus.
The visitor centre is open all year round, but from November to February only at weekends.
