Lloyd Center covers six blocks on the east side of the Willamette River. An ice skating rink is located in the heart of Lloyd Center. The major stores are Nordstrom (great cafe), Macys and Barnes & Noble. Oregon has NO sales tax! Parking is free in Lloyd Center for four hours. MAX light rail (free) is located one block south. MAX, buses, streetcars and trolleys are free from Lloyd Center throughout downtown.

Start the morning exploring the Lloyd Center (WMJK2/WMVRN) and then stroll across Holladay Park past the fountain with a floral spray made up of two rings of spouting water to catch MAX light rail (free) westbound. Visit the art work in the Convention Center especially in the restrooms (look for the black spiders). Visit the Portland Classical Chinese Garden (WMFXR/WMX7E) in Chinatown/Old Town, and then board MAX again to Skidmore Fountain and Saturday Market (open Saturday and Sunday)(WMJEV/WM5QQH). Eat a delicious donut at Voodoo Doughnuts (Amazing Race 13 WM5QQH) or lunch at Huber’s Restaurant (WMHPN/WMHQ3).

Spend the afternoon exploring downtown Portland. Board MAX again, getting off at 2nd and Morrison. Walk two blocks southeast to the Smallest Park (WMBWH/WM3TT9) and then north to the Second Smallest Park (WMBXP/WMBWJ). Walk west to the Portland Building (Amazing Race 13 WM5AKG) and Portlandia (WM16F6). Walk or ride MAX to Pioneer Courthouse Square where there are dozen Waymarks. Walk or ride MAX to 10th and then ride the free streetcar or walk a few blocks north to Powell’s City of Books (WMZ7E/WM3AMY), one of the world's largest independent book stores. Or take a stroll south through the Park Blocks (WMKR3/WMVJD/WM1QW/WMH1X/WM7ZR/WMH4M/WM53BZ) to the Portland Art Museum (WMKK2).

If you have another day, pack a picnic lunch, and spend the day at Washington Park. You need to drive if you are planning to visit Pittock Mansion (WMBTA/WM9WN/WM9XJ/WM5AEW), the Irish Famine Memorial at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery (WM5CMA) and Willamette Meridian Initial Point (WMVFD) off W. Burnside Road. If not, purchase a ticket for Hillsboro MAX Light Rail, getting off at the Zoo stop in the tunnel. Start out with a hike through the Hoyt Arboretum; then visit the Shay Locomotive (WM1228) and the Forest Discovery Center Museum, and/or the Oregon Zoo (you can eat lunch in Zoo Café). Spend the afternoon at the Japanese Garden (WMKHQ/WMFCC) and the International Test Rose Garden (WMFBV). If you have the energy, take an evening stroll in Waterfront Park where there are about eight Waymarks.

This entire Waymark itinerary can be done without spending any money except for your purchases at Lloyd Center (tax free!) and/or Saturday Market, your round trip ticket to Washington Park and your meals.
