Charlies' Automotive Quonset Hut - Quonset Huts on Waymarking.com

This quonset hut is currently used as a automotive repair shop and goes under the name of Charlies' Automotive Repair. The history of this hut is that it was originally built in 1948 in the city of Oswego, as a storage building behind a large manufacturing plant. When the plant decided to get rid of the hut, they auctioned it off the the highest bidder in 2001. Charlie was the highest bidder and bought the building for $250.00. He and his friends and family then disassembled the building piece by piece and moved it to its current location. The building was originally 60 feet long but several sections had become very rusty, so when they reassembled it, they used the best pieces and ended up with it being 40 feet long. They said it was a lot of hard work tearing down and reassembling the building, but they have made good use of it and it serves their purposes perfectly. They have nothing but good things to say about this hut.
