The grave is in the Cimetière du Vieux Château (Cemetery of the Old Chapel). It is built at the top of the Colla Rogna hill, in the place of the old castle, above the old town. The castle dates from the Middle Ages. It was abandoned and fell into ruins during the first half of the 18th Century. The cemetery was first built in 1808.
In this case the column stands on a semi circular low wall partially enclosing a family plot. There are a number of names in the plot but the earliest name at the base of the column is Rose Widmer.
The column is entwined with carved roses and similar roses are carved along the top of the wall. A head stone laid flat on the ground in front of the column also has roses carved on it, and this is presumably the original graves stone of Rose Widmer.
There are some later names on the plot all of which have the surname Cheurlot. It is not clear whether another family has taken over the plot, or whether they are relations of Rose Widmer.
