Thank you to BK-Hunters for the plan and for the encouragement.

At 4:47:59 EDST the ISS reached an altitude of 66° and a magnitude of -3.7 over Gate City, VA. At 4:50:31 EDST the ISS reached an altitude of 56° and a magnitude of -3.5 over Ottawa, ON.

Gate City is 692 miles from Ottawa. The time the ISS took to travel that distance was 2 min 32 sec.

The sky in Gate City was clear. The sky in Ottawa was mostly cloudy. Thankfully, mostly cloudy does not mean completely cloudy. When I arrived at my viewing site, I could see Saturn but no stars. I am so glad that the ISS today was such high magnitude. Time lapse photography of the pass would have revealed few stars in the background but the occasional falling flake of snow would have made for an interesting shot.

After the requisite photograph at maximum altitude, I lost track of the ISS and failed to see it set. I wish I had watched the whole pass and skipped the photography.
