I had the pleasure of getting a tour through this wonderful motel and you too can get a tour as the staff are more then happy to show you the ghost spots. There are many stories to this place so sit back and relax it's going to be a long one.

The Hertiage Motel hasn't always been a motel. It started it's life as 4 seperate houses in 1872. In the late 1890's it was then sold and one house demolised to make way for parking. The remaining builds where turned into a home for the less fortunate. It was during thid time a gold miner down on his luck came home to the motel and made his way to his room on the top floor (attic window right side). He lit a cigarette and dozed off in his bed. The lit cigarette started a blaze on the top floor killing the man as he slept. A trip to the room today will have you see the remaing burn marks which staff claim they have tried to cover only for what every they cover it with to be burnt too. They also claim to smell smoke when out side the room. On my tour as we stood on the landing after exiting the room we were all hit with the sudden over powering smell of smoke but a check of the room revealed nothing. Turning our sttention to the stair well we were told that the staff feel as if though the old staff from when the motel became a motel in the 1930's had never left. They claimed that people walking into the stairway often heard people talking downstairs and the smell of a fresh cooked meal. When going to investigate there would be no one there and the kitchen would be cold. Another member of our tour group then spoke up to say that he didn't want to say anything but as we were walking up the stairs he thought he smelt a roast dinner as we got about halfway up the first flight wemt back to the desk to ask only to find out dinner had been hours ago and the chef had left for the night. The staff also told us about the small things such as chairs moving, personal items being lost and one item that I can only say looked like an old zoo that was often found on the floor.

Public access?: It's an active motel so accomidation is avaliable and staff are more then happy to take people around and tell them of their ghost stories. There is also a ghost tour that goes there once a month. Visting hours: 9am - 6pm Website about the location and/or story: Not listed
