The Holi (abbreviation for: Hochhauslichtspiele) is a traditional cinema in Hamburg on the Schlankreye street in Harvestehude near the subway station Hoheluftbrücke. Today, as the only traditional cinema, it belongs to the Cinemaxx Group and is intended to offer a more sophisticated program within this.
The cinema was opened in 1951 and also functioned as a premiere cinema. A part of the interior has been preserved to this day. The curtain, which was occupied by Pailetten and hand-painted by the artist Friedrich Schwiek with Hamburg's city motifs, was rebuilt a few years ago and is under monument protection.
