The Zytglogge in the Bernese dialect (Zeitglockenturm in German) or the Clock Tower in Bern is a 16th century astronomical clock with a jacquemart and a carillon. He has a chime; To the right of the dial is the chime that starts every hour, 3 minutes before the full hour.

A madman sounds little bells, the number of shots indicates the next hour, while a round of 7 bears turns, showing the days of the week: the first bear riding a horse symbolizes on Sunday, it is followed By 6 bears (Monday to Saturday) each representing a different trade.

It will be noticed that the fourth bear, when it comes out, turns its head. It symbolizes Wednesday, the turn of the week.

When the full hour arrives, Chronos turns the hourglass he holds in his hand, begins counting the blows by shaking his bearded chin, and shakes his golden scepter from left to right . A golden lion on his left shakes his head vigorously for each shot indicating the time.
