Kino wie früher geniessen! Im Gegensatz zu den neuen und modernen Kinos, fühlt man sich hier wie in die 50ger Jahre zurückversetzt.

Einen ganz besonderen Charme versprüht eines der letzten Stadtteilkinos Münchens. Wer es kuschlig und gemütlich mit viel Beinfreiheit mag und dabei auf die beste Bild- und Tonqualität nicht verzichten mag, der ist im "REX" genau richtig. Seit 1954 kommt das Publikum aus dem Münchner Westen hier in den Genuss echter Filmkunst. Die ambitionierte Filmauswahl sorgt für die Unterhaltung der ganzen Familie. Unter der Woche ist von der Liebeskomödie bis zum intelligenten Thriller für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Am Wochenende laufen nachmittags die aktuellen Kinderfilme. Bei der Sonntags-Matinee werden echte Filmklassiker geboten. Nicht umsonst wird das NEUE REX regelmäßig für die hochkarätige Filmauswahl als Filmkunsttheater ausgezeichnet. Zusätzlich bekam es bereits mehrfach den Kinoprogrammpreis vom Bundesminister für Kultur, vom Freistaat Bayern und der Landeshauptstadt München.

Im Sommer 2016 wurde das Kino umfangreich renoviert und es gibt anstatt einem nun 2 attraktive Kinosäle und eine neue Theke im Foyer. Dieser Umbau war notwendig, damit das Kino auch in Zukunft durch eine größere und flexiblere Filmauswahl den Anforderungen gewachsen ist. Natürlich wurde der Charme und das besondere Flair des Kinos erhalten.

A very special charm is one of Munich's last district cinemas. If you like it cuddly and comfortably with a lot of leg freedom and while you can not do without the best picture and sound quality, the "REX" is just right. In the summer of 2016 the cinema was extensively renovated and there is instead of a two attractive cinemas and a new counter in the foyer. This conversion was necessary so that the cinema will continue to meet the demands of the cinema in the future by means of a larger and more flexible film selection. Of course the charm and special flair of the cinema was preserved.
