"St. Bonifatius" in Sömmerda
Die Kirche wurde 1562 vollendet. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung gab es 1436. Das Untergeschoss vom Kirchturm deutet auf einen romanischen Vorgängerbau. Der fünfteilige Flügelaltar stammt aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Die Emporenbilder wurden im 17. Jahrhundert übermalt. Nach ihrer Wiederentdeckung wurden sie 1913 restauriert.
Der Bau der Orgel vom Orgelbauer Johann Georg Krippendorf wurde um 1701 begonnen. Sie wurde dann mehrfach umgebaut und repariert.
Die letzte große Renovierung mit einschneidenden Veränderungen erfolgte 1962.
Die Orgel wurde 2008 und der Schnitzaltar 2009 saniert. Die Nordfassade sollte 2011 saniert werden. Außerdem wurde an die Innenausmalung gedacht.
The church was completed in 1562. The first documentary mention was made in 1436. The lower floor of the church tower points to a Romanesque predecessor. The five-part wing altar dates back to the 15th century. The gallery was painted over in the 17th century. After their rediscovery they were restored in 1913.
