THE CATHEDRAL
The Saint-Gatien cathedral of Tours is the Roman Catholic cathedral church, located in Tours, Centre-Val de Loire, France. Dedicated to Saint Gatien, the first bishop of Tours. It was built between 1170 and 1547 and was classified historical monument in 1862.

Claude Andrault-Schmitt a été professeur d'histoire de l'Art médiéval à l'université de Tours et exerce aujourd'hui à l'université de Poitiers. Elle s est attachée à décrire, siècle après siècle, les modifications architecturales de la cathédrale de sa construction à nos jours.
