[EN] Tower stations: these are the oldest. They were built between the 1920s and the 1960s and consist of a masonry or reinforced concrete tower measuring between 6 and 10 meters high.
The overhead power lines are anchored to the top, and the interior fittings are arranged downhill and are of the air-cut type (this is called "trolley" posts, which refers to very rigid cables.
The height of these transformer stations is justified by the fact that at the time almost all the networks are aerial, their height therefore serves to receive the medium voltage network coming from the poles.
The low voltage network is often aerial too, the photo posted below is well representative of this type of building.
[FR] Les postes-tours : ce sont les plus anciens. Ils ont été bâtis entre les années 1920 et les années 1960, ils consistent en une tour en maçonnerie ou en béton armé mesurant entre 6 et 10 mètres de haut.
Les lignes électriques aériennes y sont ancrées au sommet, et les appareillages intérieurs sont disposés en descente et sont de type coupure à l'air ( on surnomme cela des postes "trolley", ce mot faisant référence aux câbles très rigides.
La hauteur de ces postes de transformation se justifie par le fait qu'à l'époque, pratiquement tous les réseaux sont aérien, leur hauteur sert donc à recevoir le réseau moyenne tension venant des poteaux.
Le réseau basse tension est bien souvent aérien lui aussi, la photo postée ci-dessous est bien représentatif de ce type de bâtiment.
