Der alte Mühlstein stammt von der alten Dornbacher Mühle (bis etwa 1800) am Alsbach.

Er wurde 1954 bei Aufgrabungsarbeiten während der Errichtung der Gemeindebauanlage Vollbadgasse 3/Alszeile 101 gefunden.
