EN: The Christian Catholic Predigerkirche (preacher's church) is located next to the university hospital in the city quarter Vorstädte. It was originally built around 1235 as the church of the Dominican monastery and rebuilt only 30 years later in Gothic style as one of the first churches in the region.

The earthquake of 1356 destroyed large parts of the church, which was then renovated and decorated with numerous frescos. In the Reformation in 1529, the monastery was closed and almost the entire interior of the church was destroyed. A part of the church nave, the so-called commoner's church, served of the French-speaking reformed parish from the 17th century, while the chancel was used as fruit and salt warehouse from 1684. In 1876/77, the church was renovated and has since served the Christian Catholic community.

DE: Die christkatholische Predigerkirche befindet sich neben dem Universitätsspital im Stadtquartier Vorstädte. Sie war ursprünglich die Kirche des Dominikanerklosters; sie wurde um 1235 erbaut und schon etwa 30 Jahre später als eine der ersten Kirche der Region im gotischen Stil umgebaut.

Das Erdbeben von 1356 zerstörte grosse Teile der Kirche, die danach renoviert und mit zahlreichen Fresken versehen wurde. In der Reformation wurde das Kloster geschlossen und fast die ganze Inneneinrichtung der Kirche zerstört. Ein Teil des Kirchenschiffs, die sogenannte Leutkirche diente ab dem 17. Jahrhundert der französischsprachigen reformierten Gemeinde, während der Chor ab 1684 als Frucht und Salzlager verwendet wurde. 1876/77 wurde die Kirche renoviert und dient seither der christkatholischen Gemeinde.
