If you travel to Rockland Cemetery, just west of Rockland, Wisconsin on County Highway U, you will find a piece of art entitled Crossing Over. The artwork was created by Floyd Petersen, Jr. to be used as his father's grave marker. The hand made piece of art was set for Floyd, Sr. when he passed away in 1961. The actual work has several stones mixed with concrete and pebbles highlighted with a large pointed one and a bronze cross next to them. Two plaques are attached to the monument, on with a long inscription and one with the art title and Floyd, Jr.'s name.

Plaque #1 -

1898-1961
Dear Daddy
You cared so much
for your family
You loved us
You greatly loved our Mother
We buried you here
Too many years ago
Yet every day we think of you
We have no doubt
That you will live again
And rise to meet
The God you loved
Rest in peace, dear Daddy
Father, Husband
Friend and Farmer
Rest in peace
Your Children
