EN: The locomotive no. 1 was the first locomotive of the Sissach-Gelterkinden-Bahn and the second electric locomotive in Switzerland. It was equipped with two DC electric motors of 25 hp each. The locomotive exhibited here was reconstructed by volunteers in more than 1000 hours of work upon an desolated original chassis, and put on display at its present location in August 2016, where since 2009 already a restored SG freight car has been displayed.

Sissach-Gelterkinden-Bahn (SG) was a narrow gauge railway line that connected Gelterkinden with the national rail system in Sissach. It opened in 1891 and was the second electrified line in Switzerland. In 1912 the Hauenstein base line opened and Gelterkinden was directly connected to the main transit lines. As a consequence the small SG could not break even any more and was completely abandoned in 1916.
