Lettering "Polen" in the facade of the shopping mall Hanseviertel.
Below the carillon at the main entrance is an approximately twenty brick high brighter area, in which the word "POLEN" is to be read in darker clinker. Bricklayers from Krakow had sorted the bricks by color, the brighter for the background and the darker for the characters used.
The building was built in the 1980s and the Polish masons expressed their solidarity with the "Solidarnosc" trade union, which emerged in 1980 from a strike movement of the workers.
