He died at Munich on February 5, 1907, famous as a composer, and also as the leader of the youthful creativity of German music.

"Ludwig Wilhelm Andreas Maria Thuille (born November 30, 1861 in Bolzano, Emperor Austria, died February 5, 1907 in Munich) was an Austrian composer, music pedagogue and music theorist.
Thuille was the son of a Bozner artist, book and musician. After losing his father at the age of five with his mother and eleven-year-old, an uncle for the training of the musically gifted boy at the Gymnasium of the Kremsmünster monastery was taken care of. From 1876 Thuille lived with the family of his half-sister in Innsbruck. There, his musical training was promoted by the composer's composer Pauline Nagiller, and in 1877 Thuille completed a comprehensive composition study with Joseph Pembaur sen. Mediated In 1879, Thuille moved to Munich to continue his studies at the Royal Music School under Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger (composition), and Karl Baermann (pianoforte). He successfully completed his examination in 1882 with the presentation of a self-composed piano concerto.
As early as 1883, Thuille was employed as a teacher for piano and harmonica at the music school and was appointed professor in 1888. After the death of Rheinberger (25 November 1901) Thuille became his successor as a professor for composition. Among his numerous pupils were Hermann Abendroth, Ernest Bloch, Walter Braunfels, Fritz Cortolezis, Walter Courvoisier, Mabel W. Daniels, Rudolf von Ficker, Clemens von Franckenstein, Edgar Istel, Lily Klee, Paul von Klenau, Franz Mikorey, Josef Pembaur And Wolfgang Wetz, who was a member of the German parliament,
Thuille's work as a composition teacher took place in a harmonica concerto written together with the music editor Rudolf Louis, which was widely disseminated and is regarded as a standard work of music theory. Thuille, however, no longer experienced her publication: in February 1907 he died of sudden heart failure at the age of only 45 years. He left his wife Emma née Dietl (1865-1946) as well as the children Eduard Eugen (1888-1909) and Hedwig (1890-1964). The latter later married Thuille's pupil Walter Courvoisier.
Thuille had been a friend of the composer Richard Strauss since 1877. An exchange of letters, which is very revealing for the artistic development of both, has been preserved in parts."
