This solar obelisk out of stainless steel and glass on the Matthäikirchplatz/in the Kulturforum Berlin is five meters high. The object was unveiled in 2005. The company Sharp with this donation wanted to set a sign for the use of renewable energies. The Obelisk is surrounded by a bench. One side of the column is equipped with solar cells. The radiation energy of the sun is displayed on a display. At the same time a light and sound installation is operated with the generated energy.
