The hockey jersey of Bob Suter, a member of the U.S. Hockey Team in the 1980 Olympics at Lake Placid that stunned the U.S.S.R. Hockey Team in the Semi-final game and went on to win the gold metal, hangs over the rink where the game took place.

In Lake Placid, over the 1980 Rink within the Olympic Center, hangs the jersey of Bob Suter, a member of the U.S. Hockey Team in the 1980 Winter Olympics that took place in this village.
The Olympic Center is located in downtown Lake Placid. There is a municipal parking lot nearby.
There are three ice rinks in the center. The 1980 rink is the center one. When you enter, look up. There are many jerseys on one side with college logos. But over one end, there is one jersey for an Olympian. The jersey is mostly white with blue and a little in the arm bands. The name, Suter, is readable across the shoulders, and the number, 20, clearly readable.
Suter was a defenseman who was a member of the 'Miracle On Ice' U.S. Men's Hockey Team in the 1980 Olympics. Hockey was in the family as his father, Gary Suter, and his son, Ryan, played in the NHL. Bob was part of a couple teams, but, according to Wikipedia, he never skated in a game. Suter died in 2014 from a heart attack. He is the first of the U.S. Hockey team to die. I have a feeling that this display will grow over the years.
