The memorial bell on the central square in Gondo is rung on October 14, each year to commemorate the disastrous flood of the year 2000.

EN: The bell hangs over a small dry canal that points to the village square of Gondo. At this location, the vicious landslide hit the village on 14 October 2000, destroyed a third of the buildings and killed 13 people, almost one tenth of the population.
The rebuilt village was newly inaugurated on 14 October 2004. Probably also the bell, but I have no exact details.
The inscription on the bell in English: "Every year, on the fourteenth of the tenth month, I have been commanded, that I may comfort the living, and commemorate the dead."
DE: Die Glocke hängt über einem kleinen trockenen Kanal, der auf den Dorfplatz von Gondo zeigt. An dieser Stelle traf der vrerhängnisvolle Erdrutsch am 14. Oktober 2000 das Dorf, zerstörte ein Drittel der Gebäude und tötete 13 Menschen, fast ein Zehntel der Einwohner.
Das wieder aufgebaute Dorf wurde am 14. Oktober 2004 neu eingeweiht. Vermutlich auch die Glocke, aber genaue Daten dazu habe ich nicht.
Die Inschrift auf der Glocke: "Jährlich am vierzehnten Zehnten / so ward mir verpflichtend geboten / soll ich die Lebenden trösten / und klagend gedenken der Toten."
