This type of painting showing the Virgin Mary, either alone, or with her child Jesus are central icons for both the Catholic and Orthodox churches.

There are a number of recognised styles of Madonna paintings, this one is a full-length standing image of the Madonna and includes the infant Jesus, who turns towards the viewer or raises his hand in benediction. link

As is often the case the figure of Mary is surrounded by angels, in this particular case depicted as cherubs with wings. Two of the angels are carrying shields with a Latin inscription.

Left shield Right shield
SUB CON
TUUM FUCIMUS
PRA ST S.D.C.
DIUM 1844
The phrase is a condensed form of the oldest prayer to the Virgin. "Sub tuum praesidium".

The right hand shield also has an inscription at the bottom "R.A.D. 1926 Marian Szczurowski".

The building is known as House Under the Image - one of the historic tenements at the market in Krakow . It bears the number 19. Previous its name to House Under Modry Lion.

At the turn of the sixteenth and seventeenth century, the house belonged to the Milanese family Cellarich. Its reconstruction took place in 1633. During the fire of Krakow in 1850 building did not suffer and in the nineteenth century, was purchased by John Wentzl who opened the well-known restaurant. After World War II the premises was nationalized and operated under the name "Restaurant under the image." Closed in the 70s , now he resumed.

The name under the picture was given of adorning the facade of the image of Our Lady, which was painted in the restaurant building in the 1718 year. link

It's unclear what the date of 1844 means on the right hand shield if it was painted in 1718, nor what the date of 1926 is, but I assume that Marian Szczurowski repainted it in that year.
