Hamish McHamish was a ginger tom cat born in 1999. He belonged to Marianne Baird who lived in Loudens Close near the centre of the Scottish town of St.Andrews. Hamish quickly became well known as he was frequently spotted around the town`s busy streets and as his celebrity grew he even acquired his own Facebook page and Twitter account. This statue by David Annand was unveiled in the centre of St.Andrews on April 5th 2014. Hamish died later that year on September 11th, a book was written about him by Susan McMullan called Cool Cat About Town. The statue can be found on Logies Lane just off South Street next to the Holy Trinity Church.
