These tennis courts are visible in early photographs of the United States' Pepperrell Air Force Base. Therefore, the courts date back to at least the early 1950s. Fortunately, the paved surface and nets are much newer.
The gates to the fences are open. No signs are posted concerning usage or hours of operation. Free parking is available.
Most structures from the days of the U.S. base are gone. Hopefully, the tennis courts will continue to serve the recreation needs of members of Canadian Forces Station St. John's as well as the general public.
