Fyrtårnet blev opsat i den periode hvor Als var tysk. Tårnet er fremstillet af det tyske firma Julius Pintsch. Fyret er i dag et vinkelfyr, men det startede som ledefyr.I 1975 er det moderniseret med nyt fyrapparat og det er ændret til vinkelfyr med røde, hvide og grønne sektorer.

The lighthouse was erected during the period when Als island was German. The tower was produced by the German company Julius Pintsch. Today it is an angel light but started as a leading light. In 1975 the lighthouse was modernized and was changed to an sector light with red, white and green sectors.
