En 1686 on construisit les deux chapelles latérales, mais ce n'est qu'en 1712 qu'on bâtit le Camaril (petite chambre dédiée à la Vierge), que l'on flanqua de lourds contreforts en 1741. Deux portes font communiquer le sanctuaire avec la cour de l'ermitage qui comprends les bâtiments annexes suivants :
- En 1693 et 94, une maison fut construite attenante à la chapelle (agrandie en 1722)
- En 1733, on construisit un bâtiment abritant la piscine (continuée de 1748 à 1753)
- En 1876, la cours est définitivement clôturée
- En 1911, on construisit le bar populaire
- Enfin en 1939, on construisit la route qui permit aux voitures de ne plus passer en plein milieu de la cour !
Enfin il faut savoir que c'est en 1806 qu'un décret impérial fit de l'ermitage de Font Romeu une annexe d'Odeillo, et que c'est par ce biais que la ville de Font-Romeu, au XXe siècle, le récupèrera.
