Skagen hvide fyr er tegnet af arkitekt Philip de Lange. Fyret blev taget i brug i 1847. Oprindeligt var lyskilden kul, som blev hejst op i tårnet i en stor pande. I 1835 blev der monteret parabolspejle og kullene erstattet af rapsolie.
Fyret blev bygget i røde mursten, men blev kalket hvidt i begyndelsen af 1800-tallet. I 1858 erstattedes fyret af det nye grå fyr og fungerede herefter som signalpost. I dag bruges fyret til skiftende kunstudstillinger. Fyret er 21 meter højt.
The white lighthouse was designet by the architect Philip de Lange. The lighthouse worked from 1847. Originally the light source was coalfired. In 1835 parabolic mirrors were installed and rapeseed oil was used instead of coal.
The lighthouse was built of red bricks but was whitewashed at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1858 a new grey lighthouse was built and it replaced the white lighthouse, which was then used as a signal station. Today the White Lighthouse is used as a venue for exhibitions
