Camp Welda was a temporary prisoner camp from April, 17th to May, 3rd 1945 to summon the masses of German Soldiers which surrendered in these days.

The prisoners are treated very badly and slept on barren ground. The other problem was an inedequate food supply, so many soldiers dies of starvation here. Read this eye witness report in german: (visit link)

Maybe the allied troops are not able to catch up with so many prisoners in these days...
