[DE] Am 14.12.1957 wurde der "Film-Palast" feierlich eröffnet und mit der Aufführung des sowjetischen Filmwerkes "Der Prolog" der Malchower Bevölkerung übergeben.
Ehrengast war der Maler und Grafiker Sieghard Dittner, der für die Empfangshalle ein Wandbild gefertigt hatte und dem seit 2008 Ausstellungsräume im Malchower Kloster gewidmet sind. Seither ist viel Zeit vergangen und das Gebäude wurde neuen Nutzungszwecken zugeführt.
Heute beherbergt es das Museum zur DDR-Alltagsgeschichte, dessen Ausstellung seit 1999 ständig erweitert wird. Interessierten bieten sich neben Erinnerungsstücken zu den Themen Kino, Hochzeit, Schulanfang und Jugendweihe, Arbeitsleben und Urlaub auch Einblicke in die Foto-, Fernseh- und Rundfunktechnik der 40er Jahre.
