The love padlocks movement has made it to the heart of Cheese County USA. This is part of a great path through historic Sparta.

Though the population of this small Wisconsin town is just over 9,000 residence, they are not immune to movements from throughout the world. On this bridge, the local community has embraced the trend of love locks. The Franklin Victorian B & B (on the NRHP) has an annual Valentine's Special encouraging the use of the bridge for declaring their everlasting love for each other while also renting a room at the historic house. The path which the bridge is located is a connection from the Sparta Free Library to Brossard Evans Park to the state wide bicycle path system near by. It cuts through a historic downtown district that started in the 1860's with many of the buildings still standing today. The bridge itself is a wooden bridge with chain link on one side for the love locks.
