July 9, 1911, at 3:00, was inaugurated on Sainte-Beuve dike to Boulogne-sur-Mer, the monument erected in memory of Captain Ferber on the instigation of the President of the Air National League and Mr. Peron, mayor of Boulogne. Due to the chisel of the sculptor Boulogne Paul Graff, this very simple monument, but the happiest effect, consists of a marquise stone plinth on which stands a marble medallion representing Ferber whose resemblance is striking. The base is surmounted by a globe from which flies a bronze eagle with outstretched wings.

En septembre 1909, à Boulogne-sur-mer, où l'on avait dû annuler un meeting d'aviation trop hâtivement organisé mais où il avait accepté de donner quelques séances de démonstration, il fut victime d'un des premiers accidents d'avion. L’aile gauche de son biplan Voisin toucha le sol dans un virage, les roues prirent contact avec le sol puis vinrent se caler dans une rigole, provoquant le basculement de tout l'appareil. Ferber prit sur l'abdomen tout le poids du moteur. Il put se dégager lui-même, commentant l'accident d'un « c'est bête, c'est bête ... », mais perdit connaissance au bout d'un quart d'heure, avant de succomber à une hémorragie interne
Le 9 juillet 1911, à 3 heures, a été inauguré, sur la digue Sainte-Beuve à Boulogne-sur-Mer, le monument élevé à la mémoire du capitaine Ferber sur l'instigation du président de la Ligue Nationale Aérienne et de M. Péron, maire de Boulogne. Dû au ciseau du sculpteur boulonnais Paul Graff, ce monument très simple, mais du plus heureux effet, se compose d'un socle en pierre de Marquise sur lequel se détache un médaillon en marbre représentant Ferber dont la ressemblance est frappante. Le socle est surmonté d'un globe terrestre d'où s'envole un aigle en bronze, aux ailes étendues.
