DE: Der Völkermarkter Stausee hat eine Länge von ca 20 Kilometer, eine Breite bis zu 2 Kilometer und ist damit das drittgößte Gewässer Kärntens.
Im wahrlich nicht seenarmen Kärnten kann sich der Völkermarkter Stausee seiner Größe nach durchaus sehen lassen und auch seine Integration in die Landschaft darf wohl als durchaus gelungen bezeichnet werden. Der See wird von der Drau und der Glan gespeist. Das Kraftwerk bei Edling ist übrigens das erste ferngesteuerte Großlaufwerk Österreichs.
