Der Gleinkersee ist ein 13 ha großer (600 m lang und 400 m breit) und bis 24,5 m tiefer See (an einer Stelle trichterförmig allerdings bis 125 m Tiefe) in Oberösterreich am Nordrand des Toten Gebirges im Gemeindegebiet von Spital am Pyhrn, der wahrscheinlich von unterirdischen Quellen aus dem Karst gespeist wird, denn es sind nur sehr kleine Zuflüsse im hinteren Teil des Sees sichtbar. Er liegt auf einer Seehöhe von 806 m, unmittelbar unterhalb des 1574 m hohen Seespitz. Der Abfluss erfolgt durch den Seebach - Teichl - Steyr - Enns - Donau. Die schwache Durchflutung und windgeschützte Lage ermöglichen eine rasche Erwärmung der oberen Wasserschichten und hohe Wassertemperaturen.

The Gleinkersee is a 13-hectare (600 m long and 400 m wide) and to 24.5 m deep lake (at one point in a funnel shape but to 125 m depth) in Upper Austria on the northern edge of the Dead Mountains in the municipality of Spital am Pyhrn, is probably fed by underground springs from the karst, because there are only very small inflows in the rear part of the lake visible. It lies at an elevation of 806 m, just below the 1574 m summit "Seespitz". Outflow is through the Seebach - Teichl - Steyr - Enns - Danube. The weak flux and sheltered location permit rapid heating of the upper layers of water and high water temperatures.
