The Mil Mi-8 (Russian: ??-8, NATO reporting name: Hip) is a medium twin-turbine helicopter, originally designed by the Soviet Union, and now produced by Russia. In addition to its most common role as a transport helicopter, the Mi-8 is also used as an airborne command post, armed gunship, and reconnaissance platform.

A former Mi-8T helicopter NVA finds place it in the Thuringian Schlotheim. North of the city, on the way to Obermehler is the former 627 on a steel frame as an advertising medium and namesake of a restaurant.
The military life began in April 1971 in Brandenburg in HG-34.
Renamed was the squadron in THG 34, 1981, the Mi-8 came to HAG-35.
As a DDR VHC it was provided for the police, left after 1990 to the BGS and 1993 the BMI Brandenburg as D-HOZC.
1998 was the active life helicopter to an end, he was placed at its current location 2001.
