Since about 1900 there is a milk platform at this place. The farmers in the neighborhood placed their milk cans on the platform. Every farmer had his own can number. All the cans were transported to the dairy factory with horse and carriage. The factory was about 6 km away, at Hermannsburg. Later on the milk was transported by truck, to the factory at Munster (about 14 km away).
The farmers could order butter for private use. The delivered butter was placed in the wooden box.
