"Aan het huis De Warande, op de hoek van de Paardsdemerstraat en de Demerstraat, bevindt zich de gedenkplaat voor luitenant Lucien Collin Luitenant I.A.A.
Samen met andere weerstanders van de groep waartoe hij behoorde, heeft hij via een ontsnappingsroute talloze geallieerde piloten het leven gered. Luitenant Collin werd echter verraden. Op 18 juni 1943 werd hij opgepakt. Op 30 juni 1944 werd hij te Ludwigsburg gefusilleerd.
De gedenkplaat heeft als opschrift: Aan / LUIT. I.A.A. LUCIEN COLLIN / van groep / HOORNAERT-DIRIX G.L. / gefusilleerd / de 30.6.1944 / te Ludwigsburg voor Vorst / en Vaderland.
Toen het gedenkteken onthuld werd in 1960 was Anne Brusselmans daar om namens de RAF-piloten bloemen neer te leggen. In de laatste oorlogsmaanden heeft Anne Brusselmans zowat 200 geallieerde piloten onderdak, kleren, troost en voeding gegeven. Voor haar heldhaftige daden ontving ze onder meer de hoogste onderschiedingen in de Verenigde Staten. Bij de onthulling gaf de heer F. Dirix, toenmalig voorzitter van Geheim Leger groep Hoornaert-Dirix, een openingsrede."

Along with other resistance members of the group to which he belonged, he saved the lives countless Allied pilots via an escape route. Lt. Collin was betrayed. On June 18, 1943 he was arrested. On June 30, 1944, he was shot to Ludwigsburg.
The plaque has the inscription: On / LUIT. I.A.A. LUCIEN COLLIN / group / HOORNAERT-DIRIX G. L. / Shot / the 06.30.1944 / Ludwigsburg for Frost / and country.
When the memorial was unveiled in 1960 Anne Brusselmans was there to deposit on behalf of the RAF pilots flowers. In the last months of the war Anne Brusselmans has nearly 200 allied pilots shelter, clothes, comfort and nutrition data. For her heroic deeds she received included the highest among contributors things in the United States. At the unveiling gave Mr. F. Dirix, then chairman of Secret Army group Hoornaert-Dirix, an opening speech. "
