[FR] L'Oise est une rivière du bassin parisien au nord de la France et en Belgique, principal affluent de la Seine.
Elle prend sa source en Belgique, à 309 mètres d'altitude dans le massif forestier dit Bois de Bourlers, dans l’ancienne commune de Forges au sud-est de la ville hennuyère de Chimay. Cette rivière au cours avoisinant 330 kilomètres, presqu'entièrement navigable et bordée de canaux sur 104 kilomètres, baigne Hirson, Guise, Ribemont, La Fère où elle reçoit la Serre, la ville de Compiègne en amont de laquelle elle reçoit un gros contributeur, l'Aisne, l'agglomération de Creil près de laquelle elle reçoit sur sa rive gauche, en amont la Brêche et en aval le Thérain, puis longe la forêt de Chantilly avant d'atteindre Pontoise.
L'Oise se jette dans la Seine à 20 mètres d'altitude, au Pointil en rive droite à Conflans, en aval du centre de la commune de Conflans-Sainte-Honorine dans le département des Yvelines.
[EN] The Oise (French pronunciation: ?[waz]) is a river of Belguim and France, flowing for 341 kilometres (212 mi) from its source in the Belgian province of Hainaut, south of Chimay.
It crosses the border with France after about 20 kilometres (12 mi). It flows into the Seine at Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, a north-western suburb of Paris. Its main tributary is the Aisne.
Over the past few centuries, the Oise has played an important role as an inland shipping waterway connecting the Seine (and thus Paris) with the coastal regions of northern France, Belgium, and the Netherlands.
