Herbert Hoover was President from March 4, 1929 - March 4, 1933. He died in 1964 at the age of 90. He was buried in West Branch, Iowa, less than 1/4 mile from his birthplace.

Due to a glitch in my digital camera, the color is off in the photo. I'll replace the photo as soon as I can return to the gravesite.

Description:
Herbert Hoover graduated from Stanford University as a mining engineer. His expertise made him a millionaire by the time he turned 40. He then went into public service for the rest of his life.

Just after taking office as the President of the United States, the 1929 stock market crash occured. His popularity soon dropped as more and more people became unemployed.

Also while he was in the White House:
He refused to accept a salary while in the office.
Adolph Hitler came into power.
The Star Spangled Banner was adopted as our national hymn.

The site of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library is located in West Brance, Iowa, his home town. It is located between his grave site and his birth place.
