The Venom was a single-engined jet fighter of the British manufacturer de Havilland, which was produced in the 1950s. This plane is one of 126 copies, which were built under license in Switzerland in 1956. The aircraft was in service in the Swiss Air Force from 1956 to 1983, from 1983 to 1998 it was on display at the armory Basel. In autumn 1998, it was transported to Schupfart and then restored. Since July 1999 serving as the gate guard of the airfield, in the summer of 2015 it was restored again.

Die Venom war ein einstrahliges Jagdflugzeug des britischen Herstellers de Havilland, das in den 1950 Jahren produziert wurde. Dieses Modell ist eines von 126 Exemplaren, die 1956 in der Schweiz in Lizenz gebaut wurden. Das Flugzeug war von 1956 bis 1983 in der Schweizer Luftwaffe im Einsatz, von 1983 bis 1998 war es beim Zeughaus Basel ausgestellt. Im Herbst 1998 wurde es nach Schupfart transportiert und restauriert. Seit dem Juli 1999 dient es als Gate Guard des Flugplatzes, im Sommer 2015 wurde es erneut restauriert.
