The River Len was used, in the past, to provide the power for mills and, just before the confluence with the River Medway there is a large mill pond. From there, the River Len flows in a south west direction passing beneath Bishop's Way and briefly passing through the grounds of the Archbishops' Palace. On leaving the grounds of the Archbishops' Palace the River Len then passes, out-of-sight, beneath the footpath running along the north east side of the River Medway and the boat trip quay before emerging, unseen, into the River Medway.
