The Zoo Palast is a cinema in the heart of western Berlin in the district of Charlottenburg. The cinema in the Hardenbergstraße was operated until 29 December 2010 by the UCI. The operation was reopened and rebuilt on November 27, 2013.

A majority of German film works experienced here its premiere, z. B. Metropolis in 1927. The theater had its own orchestra, a ballet and a personal cinema organ. In the era of National Socialism, the Palace Theater should be extensively remodeled to plans by Albert Speer at the zoo; However, these conversions took place never.

During World War II, the Palace Theatre at the zoo was almost completely destroyed in an air raid in 1943 and 1955, finally demolished. Originally decreed the Zoo Palast on only two halls (Hall I 1070 seats and Hall II with 550 seats - Today Cinema 4). the Zoo Palast was expanded to last nine rooms with a total of 2758 seats through numerous renovations and expansions in the 1970s and 1980s. The first two halls were obtained here in their capacity. The most striking feature of the Zoo Palast is the slightly curved outward, clad in bright yellow ceramic tiles facade, was attached to the always large publicity film, which was painted for this purpose manually. The facade is now a protected monument.
